This tortoise shaped island has once been named as "one of the 10 most beautiful islands in the world". People with that thought may be disappointed the first time you go there, at least I did. The first time I went, the supposedly best beach, Salang beach was disfigured by the construction of a jetty, which I think should be completed by now. It was also congested by tourists. Although it's not that crowded to go to the island immediately after the monsoon period in February, the boat ride from Mersing can be the most exciting and bumpy ride in your whole life.

However, my second trip there still leaves me a very good impression with my stay at Panuba Inn Resort. With rooms perched on cliffs overlooking the sea, it is an enjoyment simply by sitting at the balcony and admiring the scenery. Although the stretch of beach there is not that wonderful, you can always venture to other beaches over a short walking distance. There's a diving center right next to the resort and remember to try the curry dishes at the restaurant, they taste great!
