Posing in front of the now deserted movie propIt is ranked among the top three in my list of the most beautiful beaches that I've been so far with it's powdery white sand and clear deep blue sea. The sea was so beautiful, no wonder the hongkong movie "Summer Holiday" was shot here. Think it was also the movie that brought additional fame to this island. The house in the movie (the one on the left) was still there but it already looked dilapilated. Seemed even more scary at night...

The island tends to be popular among the locals and Singaporeans and that somehow makes me feel like I'm going to Sentosa instead. Although most hotels and resorts on the island offer tour packages that includes all meals and snorkeling trips, it takes out the fun of exploring the different eating places and the freedom to do what you want. I guess the last thing I want during any free and easy trips is to have my meal time fixed.

redang5.jpgI went with Nic, Zhxiong and Gracia and we booked a 3D/2N quad sharing package with Coral Reef Resort with full lodging and meals. It included 3 snorkeling trips spreading over 2 days to nearby places but by the second trip, it was already quite tiring.

The trip was enjoyable although most of our programs and meals were fixed. In our free time, we would play frisbee on the beach and my dear friend would satisfy his childhood desires by building sand ca.. err, face (the 3rd picture on the right), which coincidently looked quite like him. I brought a float along which everyone enjoyed very much.

redang4.jpgThe meal tasted like canteen food and we had to queue up for every meal. It was only till the last dinner at the resort that we had some bbq food. Actually, it would be wiser to pay a bit more and stayed somewhere better.
