Pulau Perhentian lies off the coast of Kuala
Terengganu and is relatively popular among foreigners. It is a great place
for a relaxing trip as it is not as crowded as the rest of the beaches
and privacy is ensured. Although we stayed at another beach, Coral Bay
seems to be a nice place for a stay over.
I cut the sole of my left foot while snorkeling
and it left a deep wound. It really affect my trip because I couldn't
get into the sea for the rest of my stay. You can see from the picture
on the left that I even had to bandage my foot with a sock as there isn't
any medical facilities nearby. From then onwards, I began to bring a more
comprehensive first aid kit to every other trip that I go. It was sad
that I have to learn this through the hard way.
It was already a long
time since I went there and I had forgotten most of the trip. However,
I could still remember how white and powdery the sand was on the beach.
Our beach hut was just steps from the beach. We could just open our door
and jumped right into the sea! Life on the island is more serene and there
wasn't much to do.
Basically it's a place
for people to just laze on the beach, read a book or just baked under
the sun. I think the animals living there feel the same way, judging the
behaviour of a cat that always sleep outside our door. There was a hammock
just outside our hut and it was relaxing to have an afternoon nap in it.
