To all,

Carlye was one of the soldiers hurt last night. She called us this morning

approximately three hours after the incident occurred. Apparently, the

incident involved an IED explosive device as her HUMVEE was driving

down a road. Details are sketchy but the blast flipped the vehicle, with

her somehow being trapped once it landed. Her Sergeant pulled her from

the vehicle. She sustained minor shrapnel to her leg and some lacerations

to her face. She also was knocked unconscious from the blast and apparently

bit down on her tongue. Carlye told us that the wounds to her face should

heal and the shrapnel was too small for removal. She is not the soldier

requiring the overnight stay in the hospital. We hope to know more

by the end of the day.

(Bill - please forward this to Mary Kulla for distribution to all 32d MP

Co families - thanks.)

Greetings 32d MP Company Families,

As some of you may have already heard, 3 soldiers from the 32d MP Company

were hurt last night.  There were no fatalities.  2 of the soldiers returned to duty,

and the third soldier will stay at the hospital overnight and is expected to be

released soon.  The families of these soldiers have already been notified.  If

you have not previously been personally notified, your soldier was not hurt.

The chain of command has also been updated.  This e-mail provides a courtesy

update to the 32d MP Company families to keep you informed about their current situation.

MAJ David J. Larson
