This is the old Roman road that went around the Second Temple platform. Jesus would have walked on these streets. Along the sides of the street is where the markets and money changers would have been. The wall to the left is part of the Temple. The large crater in the road was caused by the collapse of a huge arched stairway that fell when the Romans destroyed the Temple in 70 A.D. |
