Audience
My primary audience is the M&E Library staff. Due to the fact that this is an Intranet, I don’t anticipate having any secondary or tertiary audiences.

Needs Assessment - Interviews
I have interviewed three staff members (there are only 9 of us total) about what elements each of them feels is vital for inclusion in an Intranet. I had anticipated some of their requests/requirements and not thought of others.

Purpose & Goals
My website purpose is to provide for M&E library staff a one-stop location for information related to our work and campus needs. My goal is to make this a painless experience for both the users and the maintainer of this site.

The unique contribution of this website will be its one-stop access to much useful and necessary information for the M & E Library staff.

Elements

• Essential -
  • Library Statistics - door counts, reference questions, etc.
  • Course assignment pages
  • Library calendar with scheduling details for all staff members (vacations, classes, dr appts, other times employee might be gone from the library)
    
• Special - The primary unique feature of this site will be in it's one-stop collation of vital sites for our everyday work and interest needs.
  
• Dynamic -
  • Weekly library publications
  • Current trials for new products
  • PU event calendars
  • Campus film schedules
  • Menus for campus and area restaurants
    
• Interactive - The interactivity on this site is currently limited, however all members will be free to access and add content and information to this site, therefore offering that form of interaction. Polls and surveys could be offered to gather feedback on the site and its usefulness, recommendations for changes.
  
• Duplicate - Much of the hyperlinked content will be duplicate information.
  • Sites of interest to the needs of the librarians will be duplicated from PU sites already in existence: Travel forms, Publishing opportunities, Promotion & tenure requirements, Conference information.
  • Sites of interest to the support staff will be duplicated from PU sites already in existence: Job openings, Committees pages.
  • Sites of interests to all members will be duplicated from PU sites already in existence: Staff development/training forms, Menus from area restaurants, Health/wellness site and insurance forms, PU publications, Krannert Business School site.
