| Welcome to Candy and Brandy's page. Both Candy and Brandy are really neat female cockatiels. Each is completely different from the other, but still wouldn't trade either for the world. A good while after getting my first bird (Looney, quaker parrot) my daughter was pushing me for her own bird. Looney was completely OVERBONDED with me and wouldn't let Katy handle him at all. After some thought I decided we could try Katy with a cockatiel. They have a reputation for being good "starter" birds for kids because they are generally very mellow and easy going. Both of these girls are no exception to that. Well, Brandy does have her "grumpy days" but she's a great bird anyway. We bought Brandy from Gramma Carollie and have gotten several birds from her since. She raises the BEST handfed babies (along with Linda C, otherwise known as Muther). Candy was raised by Linda C, and came home to live with us the summer of 02. They both LOVE their spray baths and are great eaters. Both are very quiet for the most part. There was a point there were Brandy decided she wanted to be a mommy (no daddy available) and she presented us with some lovely eggs which she guarded over quite fiercely. After that little spell was over she returned to her happy go lucky self though. LOL (Meaning she was a witch from Hades during that time!) They make great members of the flock here and I would highly recommend a 'Tiel to anyone wanting an all around great bird. |
