* Lick Fork Trail * Single Track
|
The first section of this trail is wide open and runs down through a valley, along a running stream
that spills out from the lake levee.
Most of the trail is not terribly technical but definitely twisty in sections with several roots and fallen trees.
This trail hooks up with the Horn Creek Trail at the Forestry Access Road.
Joanne was starting to wonder about me always falling behind the pack. Well... someone has to take pictures!!

* Horn Creek Trail Loop* Single Track Technical Climb
|
OK. This was just cruel. A painful climb up a ridge hill with big roots and rocks and a feeling of helplessness
(it's alot steeper than it looks).
Marc totally burnt his legs and Joanne lost her clips on her pedals, so she had to reset several times. Me... I climbed all the way without stopping *woohoo, i'm da man*.
This hill is a good 200 yards long and you wonder (looking up from the bottom) whether this would have been a better day to play some golf?

* Horn Creek Trail Loop * Tech Section Big Log Jump
|
Note the fact that this fallen tree measures halfway up Joanne's front tire and there's a nice deep gully on the other side. Yikes!
Marc's first attempt was almost over the bars, but we're proud to announce that on his second pass of this log, he sailed over it without losing his pedals, leaving a proud chain gear tooth scar on the tree *he's da man!!*
We had to check Marc's camelback to ensure his insurance policy was with him and paid in full.
There were several trees down on this trail (>10). They apparently had a twister just 2 weeks prior.

* Horn Creek Trail Loop * Coming Home
|
A welcome sight for sore eyes to see the ole Xterra after a good grunt in the woods. It was such a beautiful day and we had the whole place to ourselves. Well it was a Monday!
