* Issaquehenna Lake Loop * Tech Section Boulder Traverse
|
Derrick waited ahead to see if any of us could cross this monster obstacle. I think not!!! Not only is that boulder big and gnarly, but the slope to the right is steep and the tree roots in front, make it tough to get any climbing speed.

* Lawrence Trail * Single Track Tight n' Twisty
|
Lawrence Trail runs inland away from the lake. This loop is tight single track that winds up and down the hills following several of the creeks, all feeding Issaquehenna Lake. Total length is 3 miles.
This loop starts in the valley and ends up where it starts, making it next to impossible to get lost.
The biggest challenge is the climb on the gravel roads between sections. A definite leg burn.
There are also a few surprise stream crossings which come at you from nowhere, but are well maintained and shallow.

* Connector Trail * Single Track Very Tight n' Twisty
|
This is a section of the first trail we ventured on, from the parking lot, leading downhill into the creek valley.
This is scarey stuff. A natural tunnel with pine trees about 2-3 feet apart and only 20 feet of visibility ahead at best.
You had to be very very careful of speed coming through here. It was too easy to accelerate while coasting, if you didn't brake consistently.
We were all scared of hitting a tree with our handlebars. There were scars on the tree trunks.

* Willow Creek Trail * Wide Single Track Killer Climbs
|
Willow Creek is one of the trails that's been just recently developed and exploited by the local cycling club
but is not well-publicized.
We found this trail quite by accident and it was not clearly marked. Our downfall was that we did this trail the wrong way, and ended up climbing it all the way through, rather than cruising it downhill, by climbing the gravel access roads first.
This section is wide single track (like double track). The other lower section (down by Joanne & Marc in the photo) is regular single track.

 |
* Issaquehenna Dam Loop * Single Track Loop
|
This is the Dam loop which wraps around the far side of the lake. Like the original lake loop, this has a lot of ridge running but much gentler. There is a killer climb at the end, then a wooden bridge to cross to the dam area.
