| Home The Mount Vernon Estate and Botanical Park property was chosen and purchased in June of 2005. Situated just 5 km from the Toodyay Townsite, the estate sits on top of a hill, and the botanical park on the west facing side of the hill. The first plantings of wine grapes include Chardoney and Merlot which happened in July of 2005. Site Under Construction |
| News The Mount Vernon Estate & Botanical Park is now open every sunday until October 28th 2007, then closes for the summer. Work will then begin in and around the existing park which will see all walking trails completed within the Wildflower and Orchid Gardens. Work will also include upgrades to 4 lookouts, and new wood fired BBQs. Watch this space for next years Wildflower Garden, and Orchid Garden updates. A Hot Summer At Mt Vernon, we recorded 19 days of 40C or above. The first was 40.2 on Thursday 23rd November. The last was 41.4 on Thursday 8th March. The hottest was 48.5C on Saturday 3rd February. |
