Heather's Abode

Just the Facts, Ma'am

I grew up in small city of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. (For the newest gossip on Bartians, read the Examiner-Enterprise.) At the tender age of sixteen, I left Oklahoma to be an exchange student through AFS to Switzerland. Upon my return, I attended the Massachusetts Insitute of Technology.

After performing some private experiments in sleep deprivation, I decided to leave the concrete columns in Cambridge for the greenery of Reed College in Portland, Oregon. With the help of a critical thesis on a comic book, I got a B.A. in English Literature.

But I missed Boston, so I moved back here after graduation. Eventually I got a job somewhat related to my degree: working at the Slide Library at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Although a wonderful place to visit, I came full circle and worked at the Rotch Library at MIT.

Working in an academic environment inspired me to go back to school. After attending graduate school in Information Studies at UCLA., I received my MLIS. Now I am working at the Otis College of Art & Design.
