| The Plant or (How Not to Treat Plants and People.) |
| The Man said the plant was lovely, the very first time he saw it. He wanted to take it home with him, he knew exactly where it would fit. So he bought the lovely plant and took it home with him, but then over time he lost interest, now that it belonged to him. All the plant needed to be healthy, was sunshine, water and love, but the man put it in a dark corner where the light was never enough. He neglected the little plant, gave it no food, no water to grow. Gave none of the care it needed to thrive, gave none of the light it yearned for so. As the little plant withered away it changed and grew ugly outside. It lost all it's beautiful leaves, and the poor plant cried and cried. But no one heard it's cries for care as it continued to wither inside, until one day the man realized that the once lovely plant had died. Now that the plant was dead, it had to be thrown away, so he tossed it in the garbage with all the trash to be hauled away. The man then bought another plant, all pretty, healthy and new. One wonders if this new plant will live, or will it just wither and die away too? 12-27-01 |
