Crazy Canuck is the Regular Season Champion!  Putt Meets Big Red in SUPER BOWL!

Super Bowl: BIG RED BACKS INTO SUPER BOWL WIN
Eagles Late Score Leads to Cover
Last Update: July 30th, 9:00 AM

#7 Putt vs. #8 Big Red

Both players have chosen New England.  Since Philadelphia's late TD lead to an Eagles cover, BIG RED is the champion and wins $100 but neither player receives free entry for the 2005 season.

MSP 2005

I have been struggling to decide whether or not I would be running the pool for the 2005 season.  I have a few major events in my life planned for this Fall, so I really don't have the time to mess with the pool during the season as it was configured last season.  The automatic pick sheet that would make this pool a snap, for some reason Yahoo! neglects to send to my email.  I could change to another webhosting service, but I'll be damned if I'm going to put any money into something like that.  The other issue was that it was too hard for people that weren't able to use the Excel pick sheets to put their picks in order and use the correct codes, which meant I spent about 2-3 hours every Saturday night or Sunday Morning deciphering and rechecking everyone's picks.   I have decided to give it a try for one more season but there are a few major changes with respect to making your picks and payment methods.

I am going to limit the number of entries to 32.  I am giving the returning players the 1st chance to enter.  You must enter by August 21st and pay by September 5th.  If you have not sucessfully signed up by turning in a "test" set of picks by the August 21st, I am opening up the entries to other players.   The cost for this season is $50 and there will be no incentives this season.   Since no one won free entry for this season, the total pot for this year will be $1600.  I've decided to make the weekly win $25 or 1/2 of your entry fee and I'm putting more money towards the Super Bowl and 2nd through 4th place prizes.  Here's the planned prize breakdown if we get the full 32 players:

Weekly Wins - 17 weeks x $25/week - $425
Regular Season Champion - $500
Regular Season 2nd Place - $250
Regular Season 3rd Place - $150
Regular Season 4th Place - $75
Super Bowl Champion - $150
Super Bowl Runner Up - $50

Turning in Your Picks

In short, what I have decided to do is give players 2 options for this season.    You can either use the Excel pick sheets that will be available only on this website or you can use the Pick Form that will be on the website.

I've used the Excel sheet for several seasons and for those who can use it, simply open the file, make picks, save the file and attach it to an email back to me.

For those who don't have Excel or cannot figure out who to use it, I have the pick form available on the website.  Since Yahoo! refuses to email the forms to me, you will be responsible for cutting and pasting the results into an email that I can easily cut and paste into a tracking sheet.   After you submit the form, the next page confirms your picks.  Simply select your picks (shown in picture below), copy and paste them into an email to me.

I WILL NOT ACCEPT PICKS IN ANY OTHER FORMAT!!!  If you are incapable of turning in picks with either of these methods, you will not be able to participate in the pool.

IMPORTANT!! ENTRY METHODS

Here are the links to the 2 pick methods.  You must turn in one of these examples in order to be registered for this season.  For the excel sheet, you can either save the file or open it from here and save it before attaching it to an email to [email protected].  For the online pick form, simply click on the link, enter your alias name and email address.  You can make picks (that won't count) if you want, then hit the "SUBMIT" button.  Select the results as shown in the picture above.  Copy and paste it into an email to me at [email protected]

PAYMENT METHODS

I will not be accepting personal checks this season.  I will take cash from those of you that I see often enough to pay prizes in person.  If you normally pay by checks, I will only accept Paypal payments and will only pay prizes with Paypal.  This helps me separate the pool money from my personal finances and will benefit the players by getting their prize money faster.   I will not provide the payment details to you until I get a valid pick sheet from you.

REMEMBER, I MUST RECEIVE EITHER AN EXCEL FORM OR PICK SHEET RESULTS BY AUGUST 21ST!!

PLEASE EMAIL ALL QUESTIONS, PICKS AND/OR PICK SHEETS TO: [email protected].
