| Responses from Mrs. LaSpina about the library resources and students. |
| Mrs. Jeanne LaSpina----Teacher for 16 years. Q: What do you feel your role as a professional teacher is towards helping students understanding and utilizing the basics of a library with its reasources? A: Our students come from backgrounds that are not rich in printed materials or computers. Our school and neighborhood library offer so many opportunities for our children to learn, but many are unaware of the resources offered. It is vital that teachers introduce these resources to students. Q: Do you feel there are any problems with students and their understanding of the library resources? A: We need more time in the library so students would have the oppprtunities, and the luxury of time, to explore all the options that are offered. Q: What do you feel the role of the library is towards the curriculum? A: The library can support the curriculum (Pilgrims at Thanksgiving, space items for astrology, etc). It can encourage individual differences through different age-related materials. |
