to the official website of the M.Sc. (SE) 2000 - 2005 batch of Karunya Institute of Tecnology
(KIT). The Karunya Institute of Technology was started in 1986 by Dr.
D.G.S. Dhinakaran and Dr. Paul Dhinakaran. Karunya Institute of Technology is located at Karunya Nagar on
the Coimbatore-Siruvani Road, 25 km from Coimbatore, India, in a
sprawling six hundred acre land in a picturesque surrounding. The
Institute is well connected by road to the industrial city of
Coimbatore and thereby connected by Air, Rail and Road to the rest of
the country. The campus is beautifully laid in the vicinity of high
mountains, thick forests, lush-green fields, silvery waterfalls,
rivulets, the sweet water Siruvani Dam, streams and canals and natural
rocky landscapes. The calm and clean environment free from noise, air,
water and soil pollution makes living in the campus enjoyable and most
conducive for learning and research. The locational advantages of the
Institute lies in its proximity to the urban industrial city of
Coimbatore and the calm rural settings of Siruvani, ideal for pursuit
of knowledge.
KIT is the first self-financing engineering college in India to achieve AUTONOMY status. It is also the best in the nation in quality of education. The Institute started functioning from the academic year 1986-87 with approval of the Government of Tamilnadu and affiliation from the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. As of now, the Institute is functioning with eight U.G. courses in different branches of Engineering and Technology leading to the Degree of Bachelor of Engineering in selected branches and six P.G. courses leading to Masters Degrees in Business Administration, Computer Applications and different specialised branches of Engineering. The Institute has been recognised for Ph.D. in Engineering and Management by Bharathiar University. All these courses have been instituted with the due permission of the State Government, approval from the AICTE and affiliation from the Bharathiar University.
