Michael Mistakenly Locks Keys in Mission Van

Michael mistakenly locked the keys in the van during a mission in Redondo Beach, CA.

The mission to storm an arms stronghold in Redondo Beach was delayed after Michael locked the keys in the mission van during a quick stop off at a Tastee-Freeze fast food restaurant. The mission, originally scheduled for 1 a.m., did not actually take place until 4:15 a.m. because of the blunder.

We were all set to go to the arms stronghold, said Davenport, who was on the mission. It was only midnight, and we had scads of time. Since Michael was hungry, we saw no harm stopping off at the Tastee-Freeze.

The problem wasnt discovered until 15 minutes later when the operatives tried to get back in the van in the Tastee-Freeze parking lot. An American Automobile Association (AAA) dispatcher was immediately notified, and the team was assured a locksmith would be at the site in about 45 minutes.

They said it would only be 45 minutes, but AAA didnt show up for another hour and a half! complained Davenport.

Sanjay Dutta, the AAA locksmith called to the site, gave his account of events.

I was a bit hesitant getting out of my tow truck when I saw the group waiting around the van. They were all dressed in black and carrying semiautomatics.

The mission van proved difficult to break into, delaying the mission even longer.

First I tried my jimmy, then Michael tried shattering the glass," said Mr. Dutta. "The one thing about bulletproof glass is that it doesnt shatter easily. We kept trying, though.

It was another frustrating half-hour before Michael remembered the magnetic spare key holder under the left rear bumper.

AAA said regretfully that they would still have to charge Section for coming out to the call.

The mission finally commenced at 4:15 a.m.

I am not annoyed at Michael for locking the keys in the car, said Davenport, but I am upset at AAA for keeping us waiting in an empty parking lot in the middle of the night. Now that could have been dangerous!
