DEAR MADDY: I am a 19-year-old female operative working on Level 4. I sit beside this good-looking male operative who is also my age. I have a big crush on him and I think about him a lot. I would like to ask him out, but I am too shy. What should I do?-PUPPYLOVE |

DEAR MADDY: I am a male field operative, Level 3, and I wear a lot of Section clothes when I go out on missions. I love the new shorts line Section has put out, and I want to be hip and dress like my fellow operatives to fit in. The problem is, I have really spindly legs. I am embarrassed to wear the new Section fashion because the other operatives may notice and laugh or tease me. Any suggestions?-CHICKENLEGS |

DEAR PUPPYLOVE: You are shy, and maybe he is shy too. You should not be hesitant about these feelings you are experiencing. If you are interested in him and would like to ask him on a date, you must be the one to take the first step and approach him. Tell him how you feel, that you are sorry that he has become such a distraction to you, and cancel him. |
DEAR CHICKENLEGS: Of course not everyone looks their best in certain fads, but I recognize your need to amalgamate with the group. My suggestion is accessorize, accessorize, accessorize! Bringing attention to another part of your anatomy with accessories can sometimes "hide" other imperfections. A target-tracking M3 device, worn strapped to your shoulder, may catch the eye. Or a 6AK-27 com unit attached to your belt may detract attention from your legs. If all else fails, pack an extremely large gun. |
