Resident Evil on a Nintendo console, we thought we would never see it. But it has as Capcom make the series exclusive to Gamecube. But is it worth it? Gamecube is full of cute games like Pikmin, and we get this a zombie fest that was released six years ago. No doubt, Resident Evil is one of the best games ever made introducing us to the T-virus and Umbrella, but surely the dudes at Capcom could've made a proper sequel. Nope, this is a rebuild of an original and a classic.
So, is it just the same? No its not but then again it kind of is. The game has the same game play and shape but it looks some much better, plays smoother, old puzzles manipulated and tonnes and tonnes of new areas for you to explore if you want.
The actual controls and actions are simple enough for some muppet to learn seeing as the characters can only shoot, run and pick stuff up! The true magic, however, is the atmosphere. It is gripping and intense to say the very least. This is because of the pre-rendered backgrounds and credible animation. Every single Resi game has beautiful backgrounds but this one just craps all over the others. So beautiful and so realistic. Candles flicker, curtains sway in the wind and flashes of lightning are majestically re-created. The pre-rendered backgrounds may be a problem for those who want full fledged 3D backgrounds, but it still looks fantastic

Resident Evil works best with fixed cameras so it does not reveal the terror that creeps around the corner. Truly demoralising. The true change is that this one is much tougher. As in the last few instalments you would be glad to see a zombie and then take its head off with the weapon of your choice. But be surprised as these 'Cube zombies are much more intelligent and have a degree in attempting to eat your head. They can now go up and down stairs and more scarily, they can turn doorknobs so there's no hiding now. And they're fast, very fast. Not only so, they can hide as well to scare the pants off you. They lurk in unlit places and shadows waiting for you to trek past. Even worse, they love getting shot. It takes 10 Berretta bullets to gun one down or 3 shotgun shells. They even stay standing even if you implode their face with a grenade.
