BACK TO REJECT RANCH
Come on Sha...get in da Pee-Row wit me an I give ya a tour of where I am from.  I shall reminisce...cuz I get homesick...
I'd keep my hands and feet in da boat if I was you...LOL
I'm hunting a cajun song for here...
Here are some pics of familiar things in the area.
1.  the beautiful purple blooms of the water lilies (that have to be sprayed because they grow so thick thast they clog up the waterways). 
2.  The reflection of the Christmas lights in the water...this is how the houses are built on the lake...on stilts in the lake...our house was across shell road on other side of the house.
3. Backside of house or camp facing bayou...ahhh, I can hear da water!
4.  Yep, that's how we eat em...dump em on the table!  The juice runs down your arm to hit the ground!!!  Then dump peelings in the bayou!  Recycling Cajun Style!
Sunrise or sunset??  depends which side the lake ya on...perdy either way!!
On right is a view of Lake Verret taken from the bar.  The bar is over the water.  See the pier in the distance?  That's the spot where I swam!  Ooooh to be on my raft floating way way out to nowhere...minners nibbling at your toes....
And it was here in this bar, that I learned to dance...barefoot and usually soaking wet from swimming.  The bands were LIVE in more ways than one.  They were full of an energy that I have yet to find since leaving home.  It was more than just music...It was part of the soul...It was passion...it was feel-good...have fun...it did not matter who you were or where you came from, you felt "it"...It was personal.  From  the couples that have been dancing together for well over 60 years to the groups of widow ladies (and I do mean LADIES) who jitterbugged with each other without a care in the world...to have some fun.  I was a very lucky person to grow up the way I did.  I wish my children could be a part of it too, so I try from here...dey know some!!
My girl claims she was born in Louisiana!
