Team Groundhog 2007
Meet our Groundhog
We had a write-in vote to name our groundhog. The name that came up quite a few times was Alexander. We think it's a fitting name since our school is in Alexander County.
Shadow Sighting?
| Mrs. Little was worried we wouldn't get an official EAMS shadow sighting with the school closings we had the day before Groundhog's Day. We were lucky, however, and only had a 2 hour delay for icy roads on Feb. 2nd. The official EAMS shadow sighting news is.... (Drum roll, please.) Alexander did not see his shadow and Spring will come early! Our class cheered, you can too! |

Accurate Predictor?
| Way to go Alexander! You did an awesome job of predicting the weather this year! We've been enjoying very nice weather lately. We can't wait to see what next year holds. |

Getting Creative
* We played Roll-a-Snowman (Click HERE to download the worksheet and template) and then decorated the rest of the page to show what the weather looks like in Winter.
* We talked about shadows and then used the overhead projector to make our own shadow silhouettes. Mrs. Little even gave us a few minutes to play with shadow puppets!
* Later during the project, we'll play Roll-a-Flower (Click HERE to download the worksheet and template) and then decorated the rest of the page to show what the weather will look like in Spring.
