Cholesterol Control
Antioxidants Known as "MUFA's" Raise Good "HDL" Cholesterol:
Diets Containing Hydrogenated Oils Depress Beneficial "HDL's"
Dear Ms. Guest,
My doctor told me to raise my HDL (good) Cholesterol.

Could you give me some advice on exactly how to do this ?  What foods should I eat to  elevate my good cholesterol and lower my LDL (bad) Cholesterol levels?

? Regards,
Confused in Arizona

Dear  Confused,
Some components of Cholesterol are  more dangerous than others. Furthermore, what you eat may actually detoxify detrimental Cholesterol so it cannot harm your arteries!

This radical way of controlling Cholesterol by detoxifying it promises to dramatically slow the progression of atherosclerosis by fifty to seventy-five percent!
This is where Diet can be a powerful weapon!

Mounting evidence proves you can block LDL's toxic transformation, and its hazards, by eating foods packed with protective antioxidants.

Best Regards,
Ms. JoAnn Guest
*Monounsaturated* Fats -Mufa's keep Cholesterol at Bay
Specific Foods Raise Good "HDL" Cholesterol:
Beneficial Foods Include---
1. Avocadoes
2. Almonds
3. Macadamia Nuts
4. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
5. Rice Bran Oil
6. Garlic
7. Onions
8. Alaskan Salmon, Sardines in water
9, Oysters, Mussels
10.Vitamin C rich foods: broccoli, bell peppers
11. Beta-carotene rich foods (carrots, spinach, broccoli)

12. Red Wine in moderation
we should eat in a way to lower one type of *cholesterol*, called "LDL" and boost another type, known as "HDL".
Simply put, the LDL's are *bad guys* that serve as raw material to *clog* our arteries.
In contrast, the "good-guys" (HDL's)  tend to "eat" up LDL's and cart them to the liver where they are quickly annihilated!
