| Hello friends, and welcome to our classroom website. My name is Kristen Hughes and I am a second grade teacher at John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Middletown, Rhode Island. I graduated from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems. I returned to school after graduation to obtain my Early Childhood Education certification and I am currently certified to teach grades PK - 6. In May of 2004, I completed my master's degree in Literacy (Grades K-12) which I also received at Roger Williams University. |

| I have always wanted to create a website for interaction between students, parents, and collegues. I am delighted to have created this website as a place where I can now communicate with my students' parents online so that they can see what is going on in our classroom. I also wanted to use information that I had gained in my undergraduate degree in Computer Information Systems to use by forming this site. I am constantly updating it so check back often. | Some Interesting Things |
| When I am not at school in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I am happily married and have been for three years. My husband, James (Jamie) and I have a son, Cole, and a dog, Guinness. Guinness is now 6 years old and is an Australian Shepard and Harrier mix. He often reminds me of the hound dog in Fox and the Hound. Baa-Roo-Roo-Roo! |
