Read over math and spelling homework for multiple sets of directions. They are even sometimes located at the bottom of the page! Please check the family letter to be sure your child's math homework has been done correctly.
Please have your child do all of the homework in their handwriting (no cursive) and in pencil.
Provide crayons, glue, scissors at home for some homework assignments.
Each child needs a paint smock labeled with their name.
Please send your children to school before 8:30. I am usually at my desk at 8:15. If they do not report to the classroom by the 8:30 bell, they will be counted as late. It also is a major interruption to our morning. As each child arrives late, attendance and lunch count must be redone.
With snacks, think small - quick - nutritious.
Remember that according to district policy, the school nurse cannot send a child home unless they have a fever of over 100 degrees. Please check your child before they leave the house and keep them home if they seem like they might not make it through the day. Do not send your child to school and tell them to have the nurse check them when they get there. She is often not in the building, as she is responsible for other schools. I only push this as a mother who would hate to have her child sitting through a school day with a low fever and feeling miserable!
Students need to be properly dressed for gym on Mondays and Wednesdays.
When your child's reading group book comes home, have them read it 1 or 2 times and return it the next school day. A new book will not be sent home unless the previous one has been returned in its bag. The paper "decodable" books are yours to keep and practice with your child.
Please do not bring party invitations to school! The exceptions are if every boy in the class is invited to a boy's party, and vice-versa for girls, or whole-class parties.
