Mr. Roberts
Ken Roberts received a Bachelor of Engineering degree from McGill University and a Master of Applied Science degree from the University of Toronto, both in electrical engineering. He completed his teacher training with Rio Salado College in 2004.
Mr. Roberts worked for many years in development roles for several major corporations, including Nortel, GTE, United Technologies and Motorola. His most significant contributions were in the development of computer-aided design software for communications systems and integrated circuits.
In his first major career change, Mr. Roberts became the owner-operator of a retail photographic business in 1995. He began to pursue a teaching career after closing that business in 2001.
Prior to joining James Madison in 2004, Mr. Roberts taught at Crittenton Youth Academy in Phoenix and Kachina Country Day School in Scottsdale.
Mr. Roberts also comes to James Madison with about ten years' experience as a coach in youth soccer programs, and has coached both recreational and club teams at all age groups. His coaching credentials include a national "D" license from US Youth Soccer and a regional certificate from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
