My project is about Ford and there history. I was Required to write three pages on my topic of my choosing. The next pages will be about Henry Ford and his automobile business.
Ford launched his business from a converted wagon factory. He had 28,000 dollars in cash from 12 investors. During its early years, the company produced a couple of cars a day at the ford factory on mack avenue in Detroit. Groups of men worked on each can from components made to order by other companies. Ford's signature car was a Ford Model T.
In 1908 the ford company released the Model T which were built at the Piquette plant. The Ford company was forced to move to a bigger plant in the highland park area to keep up with demand, This is where the first production line was statred by Henry Ford december 1st 1913.
Chassie assembly by ten hours. The inventions that Ford came up with were      not poupular at this time. Ford took the radical step of doubling pay to five dollars a day.
By the end of 1913, Ford was producing 50 percent of all the cars in the United States. Half of all the cars in 1918 were Model Ts.
On January 1st, 1919, Edsel Ford succeeded his father as president of the company, althought Henry Ford still kept a hand in managment. The ford company lost shares in the 1920s due to rise of consumer credit. The company of Ford had a goal to keep prices low so they offered few features.Genral Motors and other companys began offering automobiles in a array of many different colors. They also added in more features.
Ford gave in and retired the Model T on December 2nd, 1927. Ford replaced the Model T with the Model A. A new model with more features.
