Advice from Mr. Lytle:
Do not wait until the last minute to worry about or change your grade.  Start early and then maintain your effort.

Pay attention to nutrition.  Your body is a machine and it will operate according to the fuel that you give it.  Don't expect your body and mind to turn out a high quality performance if you give it low quality fuel.

Remember that I am here because I like my job.  I am always happy to assist students.  However, I will not do things for you.  If you want or need help, make sure that you take the initiative to ask for it.  At this point in your life it is important that you learn to speak up and look after yourself.

Do not fall behind in your homework.  Homework is designed to provide some cushion for a possible low test score and to assist you in your preparation for the chapter tests.  If you neglect your homework you will be underprepared for the test and will have less flexibility if your test score is unsatisfactory.

Complete and review all of the pre-test study guides.  The day before a chapter test class is dedicated to preparing for that exam.  All of the test information is included on the study guide (though not all of the questions on the study guide will make it onto the test). If you know the study guide you will know the test.  Completed study guides are worth 5 extra credit points on the test.
Write things down.  Writing is a great memory aid.  Write down notes and homework
assignments.  The notes are extra credit (and practice).  The homework is less likely to be overlooked if you write it down.
