The 7th grade social studies curriculum at McDowell Exchange School is focused on world cultures and civilizations. The time period sweeps from pre-history to the Renaissance. There is a heavy emphasis placed upon geography within the content area, and upon studying cultures important to current world affairs. Socially, students are expected to begin the transition toward personal responsibilty and assume an active role in their education. By the end of 7th grade all students should possess well defined organizational skills and be monitoring thier academic progress as well as thier learning style. |
