Ambassador's Dispatch
February 13, 2001 vol.1 no.5
A little farther into the week this time, as I take back last week's early posting time.
It has been a busy week since we last got together.
I'm continuing my search for new members for
Legends APA, and have been happy to see
some of the curious follow-up with more questions. The latest issue (No.86)
is just starting to land in our members' mailboxes and I'm already starting
to put material together for my next zine.
Through the kind people at Multicity.com I've
added an
Embassy
Messageboard. Far from perfect, I'm still hoping it'll add a new dimension
to the site.
One of the links I've had for a while is
to the work Darren Madigan has
been providing on the web, both under his own name and a still-used nom
de plume of John Jones. Darren pours a great deal of thought, time and
effort into his work, and finds himself frustrated (as so many of us on the
net sometimes do) when no one acknowledges his work. So I've decided to write
some comments... more of a reaction, a counter-point, and even a partial
rebuttal, of portions of his latest piece. Given the embarassing ages of
our respective selves, and the time we're taking going into these matters,
I'm informally referring to this first outing, at least, as the
Geek Exchange.
As predicted, my latest shipment of comics arrived
from Westfield last week, and I've begin working them into new
reviews I'm just going to continue to add to these as
I go. All the ones added this year have their dates beside them, and I'll
continue to mark the newest ones. Look today and check back every few days.
I'll see you here next week.

Over on the
eBay
comics board we've been having a campaign week for the election of a
Board Mascot. A few of us came in a little late, inferred the
rules, and didn't know that outright villainy was one of the
qualifications. In my case, I nominated
Pariah.
