Hello hello! Drrrrum roll Please! Now presenting chapter 2!  Yay! Well I don't have much to say so read on!  Disclaimer: I. Don't. Own. Sailor. Moon. You. Are. A. Moron. If. You. Don't. Know. THAT!!

"Taxi!!" Ami yelled.

Oh great. It's starting to snow. How lucky I am today, she thought.  In this rate, I'll never reach the Laufettes in time!

"Your going to catch your death out here missy. Get in the cab."

Ami stared at the person who had said that and smiled a relieved smile. It was a Yellow Cab Driver.

"Thank You," Ami said gratefully.

She picked up her luggage and the driver put it away with her. Soon, they were in the warm cab.

"So where to missy?" the old man had said with a Scottish accent.

"Um hold on," Ami mumbled as she dug through her purse. She pulled out a piece of paper with an address scribbled on it and handed it to the cab driver.

The driver glanced at it and did a double take. Then he stared at Ami.

"So you rich or something lass?" He asked gruffly.

Ami was quite taken back by that comment and looked back at the cab driver.  Soon, she started to softly giggle. Then the giggle had turned into a cheery laughter. The driver just looked confused.

"Oh, I am sorry for bursting out like that, but the idea of me being rich is quite uproariously funny. I have been everything but rich. But why do you ask??"

The driver showed her the slip of paper and pointed at a word she couldn't
make out.

"See here? It says Pembrooke Lane. It's one of the richest neighborhood in New York," he said. "I should know. Been there a couple of times m'self. Them rich folks have nice houses."

Ami was completely amazed. She didn't know her mother's friend was rich. "Well the thing is that I haven't been in New York long. As a matter of fact, I have only been here for about a couple of hours. So I am not familiar with the area."

The cab driver smiled and started the engine. "Well that's pretty obvious," he began. "you don't have that New Yorkian accent and your not very up to date in New York fashion," he teased.

Ami opened her mouth to counter that remark but as soon as she figured out that was just a tease, she laughed.

"So missy, who're you staying with?" he questioned.

"By chance, you haven't heard of Connor and Sofia Laufette have your she questioned.

"Aye. I heard of them. Them 2 are fine people indeed. Donates about thousands of dollars to charity practically every month. I've talked to them m'self. Couple of nice rich folks. Not arrogant and snobby like some other fine family. Nah. They treat me as an equal, even though they are moneyed an' powerful and even though I'm just a lowly cab driver. Them is awfully polite, but probably they are just polite to me out of pity," he said woefully.

Ami snapped to attention at that comment and a wave of pity flowed through
her heart.

"Oh no! That's not true! I bet they like talking to you. You are very interesting to talk to. I think you are!" Ami exclaimed.

The old man smiled and said, "Aye. You are a fine lass."

Ami's whole face lighted up and she said, "Thank you mister...." Ami's face got hot as she had just realized that she had been rude and not asked him his name. But the driver found this highly amusing and not offending. He threw back his head and laughed joyously.

"Don't blush lass. Pink isn't really your color. Anyways just call me Lot. Not mister or any crap like that. Formal stuff makes me head spin."

Ami grinned and replied, "As you wish Lot."

Ami sat in the Taxi beginning to get drowsy. Her thoughts had exploded inside her head.

Why had I done that with a man that I didn't even know at the airport?  And why in the world did I reveal my name to...to...HIM?

Ami sighed. She was confused. When ever she thought of him, her thoughts drifted back to the Silver Millennium. And Zoisite.

This is too confusing, even for me! But when I was close to him, I felt safe. Protected. But how does Zoisite and the Silver Millennium link with this man?

She silently growled in frustration.  And where did this strange urge to kiss him come from?! I haven't kissed any one....except for a light peck on the cheek, given to Greg back in Tokyo. But he's dead and gone. Blast that Zoisite! Why did you have to kill him Zoisite, you monster! Damn you! Damn that man! Damn the Silver Millennium!  A tear made it's way down her cheek. Greg! she cried out silently. Why did you have to get killed?!  Ami's sighed again and wiped her tear away,  Oh well. What's done is done!

Ami was tired. All this unnecessary stress and thinking was too fatiguing. She yawned.

"You look tired missy. Why don't you nap? You have a long trip ahead of you. I'll wake you when we arrives at home."

"Thank You." Ami said.

"No problem miss."

"Oh and Lot?" she asked.

"Yes miss?" he asked.

"Call me Ami. Simple and easy Ami. No formalities."

Lot laughed his cheerful laugh again and said "No problem here."

Ami smiled and quickly fell asleep.

~*Begin Dream*~

A blinding flash of light, there stood 5 handsome men.

Zoisite is the most handsome one.

Arrgg!! Why won't he notice me??!!

A charming smile, a kiss on my hand, a bow and a curtsy. We're walking in the garden, you confessing your love to me.

Just standing there, surprised. A touch on my lips and suddenly realize that your lips were on mine!!

Dreamy......flying around the dance floor in your arms. Dancing outside in the cool balcony. There you knelt down on one knee and said something to me, holding out a small velvet box. In it, a beautiful sapphire ring with diamonds encircling it. the sterling silver band.....placed on my finger.

I stood there gazing at you lovingly, you anxious to here the 2 words, I will.

"I will."

BOOM!!! An evil laughter a giant claw sweeping you away from me.

Then I am facing you. No not you, an evil thing.

Swords clanging, a scream of pain, I fall and you fall. Both murmuring 3 words, "I love you."

Serenity using the crystal sent us to Earth.

When I was born, I heard a familiar voice saying, "I will find you." The words keep echoing in the back of my mind.

NO!!!! IT'S DRIVING ME INSANE!!

"I will find you. I will find you......."

*End Dream*

Ami woke with a gasp and found herself staring at an old man, shaking her. W-What? What am I doing here?

Ami shook her head, trying to clear some stuff up. It took a couple of minutes for her to realize why she was here and why.

Oh yeah. The plane. Ice skating. Taxi. The dream.....the dream??

Ami shook her head again and pushed the thought to the back of her head.  She smiled and said, "Thank you for waking me, Lot."

"Aye. No problem Ami. Now let's get your suitcase."

Ami got out of the cab and got her suitcase. She paid the driver and thanked him again.

As he drove away, she stared at the big house. No, it was more like a mansion. It was huge and had been decorated with Christmas lights.

She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. After a couple of seconds, the door swung open and there stood a man in a black tuxedo.

The butler, not doubt, Ami thought.

Ami opened her mouth to speak but he stopped her.

"Is it safe to assume that you are miss Ami Mizuno?" the butler questioned.

Ami nodded. "Yes. Is Mr. or Mrs. Laufette present at this time?"

The butler nodded and motioned her to follow him. She did. As Ami walked around the house, her eyes grew large with wonder.

Such a beautiful and big house. Wow. And chandeliers in every room!  Ami continued to gape. And she didn't notice the the butler staring disdainfully at her.

Finally, the two had ended up being at 2 large double doors.

"We are here," he announced. He stuck one finger up and told her to wait.

He knocked and said, "Mrs. Laufette, mistress Ami has arrived."

Ami turned a bit pink from the words "mistress Ami".

After a moment of waiting, the door swung open and a very pretty woman that had blond hair and kind brown eyes had greeted them.

"Ami!! Oh Ami, my dear," she cried. The woman looked at the butler and nodded in his direction excusing him. Then she turned her gaze back at Ami.

"Oh Ami!! Dearie me!! I have been rude haven't I? Well my name is Sofia Laufette. But I guess you already know that." Ami nodded, and Mrs. Laufette had shown her into the room.

It was a beautiful room. It was a big room. There were 4 chandeliers hanging over their heads and dozens of lit amormatherapy candles everywhere and an occasional bouquet of roses here and there. The windows had white satin curtains and were abnormally clean with out a speck of dust on them. The floor was clean as everything else in the room. Half of it was like a ball room floor made with a maroon-colored marble, with streaks of white and gold. The other half of the floor was covered with a cream colored carpet.  Mrs. Laufette showed Ami towards a sofa on the carpet. It was white and
looked extremely comfortable. Ami sat down and Mrs. Laufette followed after her. Mrs. Laufette looked at Ami adoringly as if she was her own daughter.

"So Ami dear, how has the flight been for you?? I hope the 3rd class part of the plane wasn't too rough on you?"

Ami smiled and replied, "No ma'am. It was all right. Except for the food.  It tasted awful." Ami's smile vanished a little and was replaced by a look of curiosity. This woman was rich. "Pardon me for asking ma'am, but how in the world do you happen to know my mother?"

Mrs. Laufette's smiled disappeared and Ami knew immediately that she had asked the wrong question. Noticing this, Mrs. Laufette put her hand on Ami's arm giving her an
"I'm-okay-you-didn't-ask-the-wrong-question look".

"It's a long story..."

Ami shifted a bit in her seat. "I have time. But if you prefer me not to hear it then I would understand...."

"Oh no no dear!" Mrs. Laufette said. "It's not that..."

Mrs. Laufette's face began to grow dreamy as if she had tried to pull something out of her memory. She began:

"It was a long time ago, before when you were born. Your mother and I had been enemies since 8th grade middle school back in Tokyo. We have, both been after one goal since we had met eachother. To best one another. So over the years, we had competed and tried with all our might to defeat on another.

"Soon we both got into high school and our little war had grown more intense. But even through all that, I had managed to find myself a beau.  Which is now Mr. Laufette. He was a member of the Laufette family line. Next to inherit the great Laufette fortune.

"But anyway, after all those unsuccessful attempts the best eachother, the results were a draw. We were both just filled with anger and jealousy. So your mother had declared a competition. To swim out to the ocean as far as we both could and not be caught by a wave and be dragged out to sea. I, we, were both naive and young back then so I had accepted and goaded her to start the little contest sooner."

Mrs. Laufette had looked at Ami to see if she was interested at all, but to her surprise, she was mesmerized by the whole tale. Her eyes stared at the woman, full of child-like wonder and excitement. Mrs. Laufette smiled and continued.

"Well one day, I had gone too far. I taunted her and teased her. So she had finally yelled at me and demanded that I start the contest that evening. Well it was a sunny day and the winds were calm so I didn't worry." Mrs. Laufette shook her head regretfully and sighed.

"But what a fool I was.

"I went to the beach that day. The clouds were a bit gray but I didn't back out of the bet. I didn't want to be seen as a coward in your mother's eyes so we began.

"We had started swimming out into the ocean for about 5 minutes. Both of us were pretty far because we were great swimmers back in our days.

"But that didn't matter. No matter how good we were, the ocean does not offer mercy. After about swimming 800 feet away the shore, strong winds had started to blow and strong currents were taking a hold of us. I was breathless and my determination and energy was starting to die out. But like an idiot, I had continued, in my weak state, and pumped myself out into the sea. By then, you can imagine how strong the winds were and how cold the water was getting.

"So, I had collapsed and you mother had declared herself the winner. Back then, that had to be the most miserable day of my life. Years and years of hard work and fatigue had been a waste. So I had started to lose it. I went crazy and called your mother such. But she was too busy trying to stay up above the sea. For a storm was heading towards us. With a burst of adrenaline, I swan back to the shore. Not successfully but I least I had managed to keep my head in the surface.

"I had heard your mother swimming frantically behind me. I just though, 'Why should I care about her? She's my worst enemy.' Then, about halfway back, there was a sudden sting in my leg. And it had started to go numb. And with a dead leg, it was pretty obvious that I could not swim."

Ami's eye's widened, and said, "How did you manage to stay alive? Did you stay in consciousness?? Who rescued you?? Was it Mom?"

Laufette laughed. "Easy there Ami!  I will finish the story, you know. Now where was I? Oh yes.

"Well anyway, I was stung. A jellyfish had been my and your mother's conclusion but we are not 100% positive. But there I was, suddenly sinking and nothing that I had done had kept me from going into the water. I was slowly losing conciousness from the lack of air. Then, I had felt a strong arm around me and had carried me to the surface, allowing me to breath. I was too dazed to see who it was. But I had not doubted it was your mother.

"You can imagine how surprised I was when I had found out my rescuer was your mom. But I was too tired to argue. I closed my eyes hoping and praying that we would get out of this is one piece and not our bodies full of salt water.

"I lost consciousness right there and then. I don't know how much time has lapsed and how but your mother had rescued us both. Even though that I would have never done such a courageous thing, even though I had left your mother behind being the coward I am. She had not forgotten the fact that I was her enemy but had saved me anyway.

"I woke up with a slap on my face. Your mother, being the great doctor she was, had mended my wound and prevented it from spreading the poison in my body. We had started to befriend eachother. We laughed, joked, and even teased like the two of us had been best friends forever. Ironic isn't it? We were enemies of the longest times but after that one incident, we had forgotten all the rivalry between us."

Mrs. Laufette had turned to Ami and said, "Ami, I have not told anyone of that incident. Not even my husband. You are the only one that I have spilled my secret to in over 20 years. Please, I beg you, do not tell my husband. Or my son. For they will never understand. All right Ami?"

Ami nodded. "Yes Mrs. Laufette."

Laufette had grinned. "You are just like your mother. Always so polite and quiet. But please, just call me Sofia." Sofia's eyes had began to stare into space for quite some time. After an uneasy 3 minutes, the 2 had sat in silence.

"Ami, your mother has been and still is an honorable woman. I even admit that I had admired her. Even though I had been her rival for a long time, she had a heart and rescued me. Forgave me. After all I have done for her. Never ever forget that Mia is a unique and a wonderful mother."

Ami looked at Sofia with surprise. That was the first time she called her mother by her name. Mia.

"I owe Mia my life and I am in her debt forever. I had gone to her wedding and had been her Maid of Honor. I had been to the hospital when she had given birth to you. I had watched you grow up to be a healthy and intelligent girl. So that's why, Ami Mizuno, that I am your mother's close friend, even though I don't deserve it."

Ami nodded. And the two, the shyness shattered, had talked like sisters.

Ami had found out quite alot about Sofia.

She was the president of her own cosmetic line and had sponsored the Seattle Mariners, a famous American baseball team, for quite some time in her early days. She said that she was originally living in Seattle before she came to New York. Sofia had a son too. Though he was adopted and not exactly blood related, she had loved him with all her heart and treated her as her own offspring. Ami didn't quite catch his name but she was sure that she would know by that evening.

"Speaking of my son, where in the world is he Ami?? Didn't he come pick you up from the airport?"

"No ma'am," Ami replied. "Was he? Well that wasn't really nescecerry. I came here in a Taxi and the cab driver had no problem finding this house."

"Oh dear. Well, thank goodness that this driver was a friendly one. Otherwise he would've seen the address on the paper and held you for ransom." Lauette grumbled. "That blasted son of mine," she whispered. "If he wasn't my child, well we'll just see when Zoisite comes home."

Ami's eyes snapped open. "What was his name again Sofia?!"

"Huh?" asked a confused Sofia. "Oh!! My son's name! Well it's Zo...."

"FAMILY!! I AM HOME!!" a voice shouted, preventing Sofia from finishing the sentence.

Laufette sighed and lead Ami out of the room to the staircase.

"Looks like you shall know soon enough dear."

Ami followed Sofia towards the ball room. There stood a man with a white Polo sweater and a pair of Tommy Hilfiger jeans, his back towards the 2 women. Ami moved out of the way and bent her head down, not noticing the man's face.

"Son?" Sofia said.

The man turned around and headed towards his mother arms open not even noticing Ami.

"Mom, you know the girl that was supposed that I was supposed to pick up??  I couldn't find her."

Sofia frowned slightly and then laughed. "No worries. She's here. Ami?"

Zoisite's head snapped towards the blue haired girl. Ami's head turned towards the blond man's face.

"YOU! What are you doing here?!" the both screamed at eachother at the same time.

A very bewildered Sofia blinked. "I see you 2 know eachother."

Ami just blushed and Zoisite laughed.

"Forgive me mother. I didn't know that 'Ami' was the girl from Tokyo.  Indeed we have met at the airport."

"Ami? Is this true?" Sofia questioned.

Ami nodded curtly.

"Well! This is wonderful!! Since the introductions probably have been made, I'll leave you two alone to get aquainted with eachother a bit," Mrs. Laufette said as she headed towards the door.

The two had stood in silence.

"So......." Ami started.

"I apologize," he stuttered. "I should have known that you were the one from Tokyo. You told me yourself. Imagine! I thought your name was Bonnie!!!" he laughed.

Ami just gave the man a strange look and he sweatdropped.

Quite amused at this man, she smiled and held out her hand.

"Pleasure to meet you. Forgive me for being so blunt, but I haven't caught your name yet."

Zoisite took her hand and shook it.

"My name is Zoisite."

OOOOOOOHHH! Cliffhanger! Well if u wanna find out what happens next, you will just have to tune in to the next chapter.
