| We are starting multiplication by greater numbers this week! We'll also be doing X estimation and algebra. We have switched from multiplication to subtraction sheets as of 10/10. I kept the first sheets for the records, but I see subtraction is a bit weak overall, so we will work on it for the next several weeks. Click over to math help to see how you can reinforce the concepts that need some polishing. Math help Chp. 2-4 Math help Chp. 6 A solid week in multiplication. What I see as overall weakness is the product plus and addend. What I mean is that in greater multiplication you carry over from tens and hundred so knowing how to do a problem like "6 x 8+3" is critical to mastering this standard! If you saw our newsletter, I placed a great emphasis on X facts. Work them in the car, at dinner, shopping, any time is a good time for "times"! We took our Chapter 6 test on Friday and I'll be assessing over the weekend. Look for them Monday. Remember that I give a chance to "redo" the incorrect problems for a better grade! This week we start off with greater multiplication and estimaton with X. We'll also be working x and y by rolling out some algebra.
