Who are we?

Junipers is an association of nature lover, based in Calcutta, India. It was founded in 1996 by some ex-students of Jadavpur University. These students started mountaineering with the mountaineering club of their university and fell in love with climbing and the Himalayas. They started Junipers with the aim to continue mountaineering as an well-integrated team and explore remote and never-explored corners of the Himalayas.

What we do?

In brief, we climb and explore the Himalayas. Our ambition is to go where none ever went, climb those routes none ever climbed, and enjoy the exciting and thrilling journeys as a team. Since 96, we have organized many expeditions - some of them were spectacularly successful in either opening new routes on hostile high peaks or making first ascents of remote virgin peaks; some of them were not successful in their climbing goals, but achieved enormous success in other aspects: exploration and discovering the ultimate joy of mountaineering for its members. We hope to continue our wonderful journey: from here to eternity.
