Adriangang Digimon - Digital Monsters
Part One: Introduction
Chapter One: Going Digital
The old man looked down at the small monsters in the room below. He smiled to himself as his eyes scanned every unique detail of each one. He was proud of what he had done. Because he knew that the eight little monsters, though not excessively large or powerful yet, would be instrumental in the banishing of the darkness. The old man turned away from the window and looked at the glass cabinet at the other end of the room, where the eight broken egg shells were kept, still attached to the small hand-held devices and tags they were before they had hatched. The tags were also holding something inside them. Each tag held a small, coloured crest, each displaying a unique emblem and has a different colour. The old man opened the cabinet and carefully disconnected the devices from the now unimportant eggshells.
Hey, four of you come over here. Its time. The old man called to the workers at the other end of the room. Sure enough, upon hearing the command four men, all wearing brown cloaks with hoods so big their face could not be made out, approached him. The old man studied each device carefully and then selected five of them from the rest, which he gave to his first underling.
Adrian Wong, Timothy Pugh, Sam Daniels, Darren Sharples and Khalid Fouda. The man announced, giving him one of the small devices every time he called a name. Dont get them confused. With this, the first worker turned and left. The old man approached the next worker, selected two of the devices from the remaining four, and gave them to him one after another.
Andrea Simpson and Kerri Hutchinson. The old man continued. With this, the worker nodded in understanding and left. The old man walked on to the next worker, selecting one of the devices and giving it to him.
Audrey Piedot. The old man said to him. Once again, the worker turned and left. The old man now approached the cabinet again, disconnected the tags from each of the shells and took the crest out of each tag. He then gave all of the crests to the fourth and final worker that he had called over.
Hide these throughout the land. He commanded. Not in any place too hard to find, but nowhere too conspicuous either. With his orders, the last of the workers set off. The old man held up the tags.
These stay with me. He announced to nobody in particular, before shoving the tags into his back pocket. He then turned toward the last two workers in the room.
Hey, open the gates! Theyll arrive soon! He barked, watching as the two men carried out their orders and pulled two levers on the opposite walls of the room. This opened the huge doors below, creating a source of light and a noise that more than got the attention of the eight monsters. The man approached the window again and watched as the eight monsters scurried off out of the room and into the forest outside.
Good luck. The man said quietly as he watched the last of the monsters disappear through the gate.
Tim looked at the small TV screen. It was a cold Friday night, and he and several of his friends were watching one of their favourite shows, Banzai, with Adrians pocket television. They were at a scout camp, and this was their only means of watching television. Khalid, one of Tims best friends who joined the scouts just in time for the camp, was holding the TV, which was causing quite a stir. Several young cubs had also gathered to watch, but their leaders had moved them back to their tents, as it was quite late. The seven older scouts were left watching the small device. They were Darren Sharples, Adrian Wong, Sam Daniels, Tim Pugh, Khalid Fouda, Rakesh Hirani and Mahdad Gharedaghi. The seven were of the first Edgware scout group and were the oldest of all the scouts present at the camp therefore could stay up as late as they wanted as long as they were quiet.
Remember not to have that too loud cause the younger cubs and scouts are trying to sleep. Chris Pope, their leader, had said. The seven muttered agreements as Khalid turned the volume down a little. Unbeknownst to the septet, five small shooting stars appeared in the sky and were falling toward the field at a rapid rate.
How many of the balloons will she shoot? One, two, three, four or five? Bet now! The commentator on the TV show shouted in a Japanese accent.
Four! Adrian shouted out.
Five. Tim spoke.
I say three. Sam said. The five shooting stars were now quickly approaching the grass. They impacted with the ground with a soft thud that was cushioned by the soft grass. In the corner of Tims eye a small light glistened grabbing his attention. He turned his gaze and saw the last of the five shooting stars land behind a row of trees in the distance. Immediately he stood and stared at the trees.
Tim, whats wrong? Sam asked him, not really interested in the television.
Umm Tim replied, not really sure what to say. He then slowly started walking towards the woods then excitedly gained speed and ran as fast as he could. Sam wasnt sure what to think as he watched Tim run off. Darren then nudged him and asked.
Wheres he going?
Im not sure, should we follow? Sam wondered.
Darren stood and said in a stupid voice, That would be grand. The pair then started running after Tim, while the others were too fixed on the TV to notice the other three had gone. Tim arrived at the site the shooting stars had landed but the light had gone. He looked around for a while searching for whatever it was, and it had gone but he knew it couldnt have gone far. After a few frantic minutes the others arrived at the site, Sam shone his torch on Tim.
Are you ok? What are you looking for? he asked
Hey you stupid moose, whats up? Darren spoke as he stepped forward. As he did so, Tim found what he was looking for. It was small, just bigger than a watch but the night was too dark so he couldnt quite tell what it was. He reached down to grab it to get a better look. As his fingertips touched the small object, it immediately jumped into the palm of his hand as if it was some kind of magnet, then out of absolutely nowhere a giant beam of light came from the clouds and projected onto Tim. He looked up into the centre of the light, and almost blinded he turned his eyes back to the ground and the object. Sam ran towards him quickly followed by Darren but as they both reached out to pull him from the light, Tims body shattered into a thousand pieces. Sams eyes widened in disbelief as Darren stood back in amazement. The thousands of pieces then all gave off a tiny orange light as they then turned into ones and zeros before being sucked up by the light towards the clouds where the beam disappeared. Sam stood over the site where Tim was, he wasnt sure what happened but he had a gut feeling he was alive. He looked down to see another four of the devices. He contemplated what to do for a moment before turning to Darren who still stood staring at the clouds and said,
Go get the others! he demanded. Hes alive and weve got to go get him, right?
Right! Darren nodded then ran off though the trees.
Tim lay face down in the water, the tide slowly bringing him in. His head rested on the sand as he arrived at the shore. He opened one eye slowly, his body felt numb and his first vision was of a small black and white creature no bigger than a kitten. He opened the other eye to see it clearly, it was like an oval shape with large golden eyes and a small tail, and it sat on small triangle shaped legs and gave him a small welcome grin.
You took your time, do you know how long II mean weve been waiting? And you dont even have the decency to all turn up at once. The creature said before jumping over to Tim and started jumping up and down on his back, for a small thing it weighted quite a bit. Tim sat up flinging the animal into the water.
Ahhhhhh! What the hell are you, dont eat me! He cried like a girl.
Now that you mention it, I am kinda hungry, did you bring any food? No, dont suppose you did; dont think about poor little Shocamon sitting here all cold and alone and hungry for years waiting for you. The creature complained.
Shocamon? Tim asked.
No, Im Batman! Of course Im Shocamon, got a problem with my name?
No! Its a nice name. the pair were silent for a second before Tim found courage to ask What are you gonna do with me?
Nothing you mushroom! The question is what are you gonna do with me? Shocamon said with grin.
Ummthis. Tim quickly got to his feet and kicked the creature into the sea then ran off along the beach as fast as he could without a clue as to where he was going. Shocamon jumped out of the water and without any effort caught up with Tim. Tim turned and gave a defensive pose just as Shocamon jumped up and grabbed Tims nose with his teeth.
Aghh! Tim screamed in a squeaky voice. Get off, get off, Im sorry! Shocamon fell and sat next to Tim
Are you going to listen to me now? He asked.
Why what have you got to say? Tim replied.
Well I guess this must all seem strange and new to you but Ill explain. First of all, Im a Digimon, which means digital monster but I choose to ignore the monster part. Anyway you Tim are a Digidestinedsent here to bring balance between the good and evil Digimon in this world. I, Shocamon, am here to help you and protect you and vice versa.
Okay, so what do I have to do, cause I just want to go home. Tim asked.
You have to be my slave. Shocamon grinned.
What?
Shocamon laughed. Just kidding, actually you have to beat whoevers behind all this.
Whos behind what?
Oh, Ill tell you later, basically theres a great evil threat here in the Digiworld but first of all you should know about that. Shocamon pointed at the device in Tims hand.
Oh yeah, this. Tim held it out and stared at it.
Its called a Digivice and its our key to bringing balance. It allows you to help me Digivolve. Before you ask like a dope, Digivolving is when I grow and become stronger, cool huh?
I guess. Tim replied looking puzzled. A moment of silence past as Tim took a quick looked around, then a splash came from behind him, he turned to see Adrian, Khalid, Darren and Sam in a pile on the shore, each of them with the same confused look Tim had when we woke in the Digiworld. He smiled and slowly started walking towards the pile but found he was in a race as four more small creatures similar to Shocamon ran past him. First there was what looked like a yellow potato with a fork, he ran towards Sam and jumped on him. Then there was a small blue creature and a flying white and red creature, the blue one reminded Tim of a Moomin, from an old cartoon series and the other was like a white puppy with red armour and large floppy wings. They sat beside Darren and Adrian who were on top of each other with Adrian screaming. Last of all a very small red animal, which looked a bit like a mini-devil. It slowly stomped over to Khalid with his arms folded and a scowl on his small red face. Tim turned and wondered where they all came from and found himself in front of three more little monsters. One was a green snake like being, which was sleeping beside the next, a puppy like creature. It was peach and had a large collar. The last was what appeared to be a small eagle with goggles on its head. Another splash came from behind Tim and the three ran over the splash. Tim followed to find three girls; he couldnt believe this luck as he knelled down to introduce himself but then realised he knew them. A tall girl with short brown hair stood up shaking the water off her clothes then looked up at Tim.
You! they both yelled.
What are you doing here? Tim asked.
Where is here? Asked the girl. The girl was Andrea, a girl Tim and Sam had met on the Internet a long time ago. Then another figure popped up next to Andrea, all wet and cold.
That was fun. She said. She then noticed Tim and a saddened look appear apon her face. The girl was Andreas sidekick, Kerri, who was a little more hyperactive and hostile than Andrea. The third was Audrey, a.k.a. Drey, an American girl who they also met on the Internet. After a while the octet sat on the beach awaiting Tims explanation of where they were and why, the eight Digimon joined them and Tim and Shocamon began to explain. The Digimon introduced themselves to the group; they were Shocamon, Tridemon the trident-wielding Digimon, Moosemon the Moomin-like Digimon, Onomon the red and white flying Digimon, Slipmon the little red devil Digimon, Slythamon the snake Digimon, Salamon the puppy Digimon and Eaglemon the eagle Digimon.
After about an hour of arguing and explanations the group decided they should start to move and find some food. The group walked along the shore getting to know each other a little better. Tridemon and Sam walked side by side.
Why are we really here, Tridemon? Asked Sam.
Im not really too sure, but everything will become clear soon I hope. Do you want to go home?
Actually no, its really nice here and I guess its different from the struggles of real lifeI think we will all grow to like it here but its understandable for people to be scared, worried or upset about this, right?
Hmmyeah. Tridemon nodded, looking out across the ocean. His mind was on another planet thinking about the dangers and good times that await them; his thoughts were interrupted as a large thud came from behind the group. Tim stopped and turned and looked towards the sound.
Shocamonexplain. he demanded.
Well you remember I said about us growing stronger and stuffthats because we have to fight.
Fight what? Khalid asked. Then a large red bug looking creature appeared from the woods and immediately spotted them.
That! Said Eaglemon as he started running away form the monster.
Its Kuwagamon! Tridemon exclaimed.
Tim knelled down infront of Shocamon. You wanna show us what you can do? Shocamon nodded and the eight Digimon ran towards the monster, with the exception of Eaglemon who stopped and saw them running towards it.
Why do they always do that? he then followed them towards Kuwagamon.
Okay, we better not get caught up in the action. Tim suggested.
I hate you but I have to agree. Kerri said, as she was first to start running towards the forest up ahead quickly followed by the others.
Meanwhile, the Digimon were all standing in front of Kuwagamon.
Now, Digimon! Shocamon cried. Attack!
Puppy Howling! Salamon shouted, jumping into the air and pulling energy into her body. She fired a white silhouette of energy at Kuwagamon. This hit the big bug Digimon in the face, and it roared in anger.
Virus Fist! Slipmon called, pulling his fist back and charging it with black energy. With a grunt, he thrust his arm forward, punching a black ball of energy at Kuwagamons body.
Semblance Bomb! Onomon announced, creating a white bubble of energy and launching it towards Kuwagamons chest.
Moose Spray! Moosemon declared, drawing back his head and shooting a powerful stream of water at Kuwagamons face. The huge insect was surprised and flinched as the jet hit him.
Buzz Shocker! Shocamon cried, charging electricity in his body and firing it at Kuwagamon. The bigger Digimon was shocked by the blast, but quickly came to his senses. It leaned forward and prepared to cut two of the small Digimon with its pincers.
Oh no, you dont! Slythamon said. Snake Constriction! Slythamon fired a thin string around Kuwagamons pincers, trapping them shut. Eaglemon, meanwhile, was just approaching the rest of the group. He jumped up into the air.
Sweeping Wing! Eaglemon shouted, waving his wings forwards rapidly. This created a harsh gust of wind, which pushed Kuwagamon onto his back.
Looks like I got here just in time! Eaglemon commented.
Yeah! Shocamon agreed with a chuckle. Thanks, Eaglemon!
Uh-oh Salamon mumbled.
What? Shocamon asked, turning back. He saw to his horror that Kuwagamon had returned to his feet and with a burst of extreme strength had broken Slythamons binds around his pincers. Kuwagamon then kneeled forward and swept all eight Digimon aside with a mighty swing of his pincers. They cried painfully as they were scattered around the plains. All eight of the Digimon were weak now, but so was Kuwagamon, and it was clear that not much more was needed to defeat him. Shocamon looked over at the eight teens running towards the forest.
I cant let Tim down on the first day! he whispered to himself. He gathered what little energy he had to stand and blast a blot of electricity at Kuwagamon and hold it. Moosemon noticed what he was trying to do and aimed a blast of water at the enemy. Tridemon stood and ran towards the bolt between Shocamon and Kuwagamon and held his trident in the beam. The other Digimon then focused their power to the trident and it took in all the energy of their attacks. A moment of silence surrounded the battle, and then Tridemon raised his head and looked at Kuwagamon.
Eat this! He then aimed the Trident at him and blasted a multicoloured beam at the beast. Kuwagamon cried out in pain as he shattered into millions of particles.

The eight humans were standing on the outskirts of the forest watching the Digimon slowly walk back; they congratulated each other and started walking into the forest. Tim stood still and watched the rest; Shocamon turned and hopped towards him.
Whats up? he asked.
You did great today you know?
Yeah, I know, Im pretty suave. Shocamon joked.
As it said in the film CasablancaI think this is the start of a beautiful friendship.
Yeah. Shocamon agreed as the two followed the group into the forest.
Wait, whats a film? Asked Shocamon.
