My name is Alexander Underhill, but I go by Zander. I live in Jericho, Vermont, and am currently a student at Mount Mansfield Union High School (MMU). In addition to my high school studies, I’m enrolled at the Center of Technology Essex (CTE), where I’m completing my third year in the Computer Animation & Web Design (CAWD) 2 program. I’m also dual-enrolled at the Community College of Vermont (CCV), earning college credits in courses like Website Development, Photography I, and Drawing I. My academic journey reflects my passion for learning and creativity. In middle school, I participated in UVM's annual engineering challenge, where my team of middle school students placed third against high school and college competitors. Our ping-pong ball launcher impressed judges with its precision and innovation. During my time in Cub Scouts, I earned the prestigious Supernova Award for Science by designing, building, and launching model rockets. At CTE, I began in the Pre-Tech 2 program, which introduced me to IT, design, engineering, and the arts. From there, I advanced to the Computer Animation & Web Design program, earning a web design certification and college credits in Website Development. Now in CAWD 2, I’m honing my skills in animation, graphic design, and photography. Outside the classroom, I’ve been actively involved in extracurriculars. At MMU, I participated in the Dungeons & Dragons club and the Robotics Team, where I developed my problem-solving and teamwork skills. Additionally, I work at Mountain High Pizza Pie, thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Throughout my academic career, I’ve consistently made the Honor Roll, demonstrating my dedication to excellence. Next year, I plan to attend Champlain College to pursue a degree in Game or Graphic Design and Business, combining my creative and entrepreneurial interests.
