Michael
Porter's career in the Thoroughbred Racing Industry dates
back to 1969. He began his career as a groom which intern taught him
about leg work and conformation of horses. Training Mike received his trainers license in 1981. Not long after he began to exercise his own horses. This is an asset for him because he is now able to assess for himself how fit and conditioned his horses are before a race. Mike's first win as a trainer came from his third start. From then on he has developed a knack for producing winners. Check out his record. Michael Porter was also an assistant trainer for Kenny Mcpeek the year Tejano Run finished second in the Kentucky Derby. Michael Porter Thoroughbred Racing Stables is currently racing on the Kentucky Circuit and at the Fairgrounds in the fall. |
