Coach's Corner
Dear Parents and Swimmers,
I would first like to congratulate the swimmers on their excellent performances at Junior Olympics, Claremont and Moreno Valley meets. I am continually impressed with the tenacity of the swimmers as they approach each race ready to take off more and more time. I am equally impressed with the improvement in strokes, starts, turns and finishes and I would like to thank the coaches for their efforts in these regards. Swimmers, keep in mind that it is not usually the strongest or biggest swimmer who wins the race but the swimmer who has the best strokes who will prevail in the end
As we approach what is the beginning of the competitive year and the conclusion of the long course season, it is important to look back and reflect upon our successes and those things we need to work on. With this knowledge in hand we can direct our energies to improving ourselves in the following year.
I am impressed with the way the team has begun to come together and the growth that has begun to happen. The team has the possibility to become a powerhouse of local swimming talent, but the only way this will happen is to make sure the swimmers are attending practice on a regular basis, keeping a commitment to stroke technique, and most of all, keeping swimming fun.
         See you at the pool,

ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET
We have made final plans for our annual awards banquet. It will be held on September 17th, from 5:00-8:00 pm on the pool deck. We will be ordering a catered Mexican-style dinner to serve on deck. Tickets are now on sale at the office for $9.00 per person attending. We encourage all who wish to attend to purchase their tickets as soon as possible. The cut off date for buying tickets is August 30, to enable us to have a final count for ordering the food.  If you wish to come to the awards portion of the banquet but do not wish to purchase food tickets, please feel free to join us at 6:30 for the awards.
We do request help in setting up tables and chairs, and of course, in tearing down after the banquet. Please sign up for one of these jobs when you purchase your tickets, so that the burden will be equal for all.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!
