I met Matt online in the American Singles chatroom in the Spring of 1999 (I think). His quick wit and humor quickly made him stand out from the crowd. I have always envied quick wit, and enjoyed hanging around him and the group of friends that flocked between the rooms of AS as well as MPlayer and playing Half Life.
In the Fall of 1999 I went on a weekend get-together to Savannah. There I met him and about 12 other people from A.S. He was just as nice in person as he was online, and just as much fun.
Then in the Spring of 2000 a smaller group of us got together in Baltimore. We visited the Aquarium, Baja Beach Club, Hard Rock Cafe and a few other places, then got a bit crazy online.
Shortly after that, American Singles became a pay chat site, and the regulars dropped away. I really miss the good times we had there, and can't find another site that comes close to comparing.
Although I have met tons of people online, he is the one true friend who has remained. I'm very thankful he was there for a couple of rocky moments in my life, and hope he feels the same about the few he has had too. I look forward to celebrating the day that he finds true happiness with a special person.

This is my favorite Moorsker quote...during a tough, personal time, I kept it by my computer to remind myself that there are many nice people out there.
"You're loved for your personality and nothing else. You gotta run with who you are and laugh at the people who place looks above anything. People are just that, people. We're all different and unique and our shortcomings and our talents are what make us who we are, and that is something to be proud of.
You gotta understand that most people simply love you for who you are, as they should."
