This is the ex wife's car now. Still looks exactly the same. |
Best ET, MPH, 60 ft:??.? @ ???.?, ?.?.....never ran it. Would guess mid 14s.Comments:Wheel tire combo turned out perfect. It damn well should have with as much time I spent calculating what would fit in there. 15x7s w/ 5" backspace up front wearing 226/60/15 Comp T/As. These were left from the swap to 275/60s on the back of the '84. They were in perfect shape so we used 'em. Out back we stuffed 15x10s w/ 6.5" backspace wrapped in 295/50/15 BFG Radial T/As (blackwall out). The 295s absolutely fill the wheelwell and come perfectly out flush to the sheet metal. The look is unreal....especially with everyone swapping to Cobra R's or some other 17-18" combo.
There are a couple minor modifications necessary to fit this combo. Nothing a dremel tool can't fix. Check out the full size images of the two pics below. The first shows the necessary material removal from the front calipers (don't worry....no ill effects from this). The second pic shows the required modification to the rear ABS harness bracket. Thanks for the pic of the front caliper mod Ronnie!
