Ever catch a glimpse of the Mach 5 steering wheel? If you have, you were probably wondering about the purpose of those gadgets. There are so many, seven to be exact, but what exactly do they do? Well, this next section, will explain to you those functions. Be prepared to have your questions answered.
Button A: Releases powerful auto jacks, which boost the car.
Button B: Turns the normal Mach 5 tires into special ones. These 'better' tires equip the Mach 5 with superior grip, which allows for faster driving on all sorts of terrain. When the auxiliary motors are used simultaneously with these tires, the output of horse power is about 5,000 hp per tire. Strange, yes. And it was Sparky, the young mechanic prodigy that installed this function.
Button C: Activates to rotary saws, located in the front of the Mach 5. These saws can penetrate supposedly any earth substance. Another phenomenal feature.
Button D: The cockpit of the Mach 5 is transformed into a water-tight, bullet and crash proof chamber. Too bad our cars can't have that feature as an option.
Button E: Does something to increase visibility. With this button Speed gets special illumination, allowing him to see further ahead, and of course it is better than ordinary headlights.
Button F: An underwater feature. When the Mach 5 is submerged, the cockpit is fantastically supplied with oxygen. Another submarine feature! A periscope is raised to the surface, and Speed can monitor the activity at the surface of water, via a television built into the Mach 5.
Button G: Releases a homing robot. This mechanical thing can carry tape recordings, pictures, and other messages, to where ever Speed wants it to go. When this button is pushed another console is revealed. Inside this panel, is a joystick that can be used to control the robot's flight. The other button will send the robot home.
