Member Code of Conduct

We are pleased to announce Mothers & Mores Member Code of Conduct, which includes the organizations Guiding Principles. The Code reflects an environment of respect and tolerance to which we commit ourselves as members of Mothers & More.

Member Code of Conduct
Mothers & More is committed to improving the lives of mothers through support, education and advocacy.  In order for us to further our mission and reflect our beliefs, all members of Mothers & More are expected to uphold the following guiding principles:

As members of Mothers & More
  • We respect each other as peers and individuals.
  • We each do our share to promote and sustain a sense of community, in our local chapters, online loops and throughout the organization, where mothers can be real and feel confident that they will not be pressured or judged.
  • We treat one another with respect and demonstrate tolerance for one anothers choices on how we care for our children, our families and ourselves, and if and how we combine parenting and paid work.

Members who fail to uphold the guiding principles by acting in a manner that is egregiously inconsistent with the mission, guiding principles or member policies of Mothers & More may be subject to termination of certain member services or their membership in the organization. Possible grounds for termination may include, but are not limited to, the following: criminal acts, gross misconduct, theft of property or misuse of organizations materials or funds, physical or verbal abuse, and harassment or mistreatment of other members, staff or volunteers.

What is the purpose of a Code of Conduct?
Overall, the Code will help us all connect our mission and beliefs with how we engage with one another in our daily interactions through Mothers & More, and help us affirm what we hold most valuable in being a part of the Mothers & More community. It will serve as the foundation for how we present Mothers & More in public, when serving as representatives of the organization.

It will also be the yardstick by which we measure egregious misconduct by members and consider action to correct that behavior. It will serve as a valuable tool for chapter leaders, when dealing with member behavior issues in their chapters and for loop moderators for both local and national level member email loops in those same kinds of situations on loops.

The Code will be posted at our website and included in new member welcome packets. Chapters will be encouraged to make the Code available at meetings and to hot link to the national webpage containing the Code from their local websites.

If you have any questions about the Code, please contact your chapter leader or, if you are not active in a chapter, contact [email protected].
