Jean and my Dad Norman met in an odd sorta way. In 1959 my uncle Blane Cook was shot and Killed over a land dispute. He was the husband to my dads sister Nelly Buckner Cook. Back when he was shot and killed things were very different. When someone died they were not taken to a funeral home but were laid out at the persons home. Well it so happened that my mom and my aunt Nelly lived up the same little holler in Wyoming county, called Toney Fork. It tokk a tradgidy to bring a marraige. They dated for 2 years then were married May of 1962. |
