Art Matters 2004

Press Release
Call For Submissions

This is the press release announcing the call for submissions for Art Matters. I developed a comprehensive email list that included student groups and media.

Concordian
Call For Submissions

The Concordian published an article about the call for submissions. We got twice as many submissions that year as we got in the previous year, increasing the quality of the shows in the festival.

Flyer
Press Preview

We held a preview of some of the best shows for the press a couple weeks before the festival so they could write reviews the week the festival started. I wrote the text for the flyer and it was realized by our designer.

Poster

I came up with the concept of having well known students and staff "endorse" the festival and the committee decided to mimick Concordia's ad campaign "Real Education for the Real World". Everyone who posed for the posters got to keep the t-shirt so the week before the festival, everyone who was anyone at Concordia was walking around wearing an Art Matters t-shirt. It worked out really well.

This is the release that was sent to student and city-wide press as well as student groups.

We got two full pages in the Link about the festival. This is the spread that they did about the shows that were in the preview the first week.
