is essentially a league of humans with common interests.  By forming an active community, the members of Mortrag, dubbed "Mortragians," may develop their interests, and just generally enjoy the company of others that share them.  

All members of Mortrag are classified nerds, although being a "nerd" is not quite what someone unfamiliar to the practices of Mortrag would think.  A nerd is not an insult or a bad thing - rather, a nerd in Mortrag is someone with at least one highly developed interest, if not a few, in "nerdy" areas of recreation.  One could have a hobby of writing artificial intelligence scripts for an Age of Empires game, a record of having beaten Halo on Legendary,  excessive training in boffering, or perhaps knack for building useless contraptions.  These sorts of nerdy interests are mainly technological, and will be commonly viewed as promoting a sedentary lifestyle.  However, this is also not the case in Mortrag, as many members are quite physically active, and enjoy sports or jogging or things of that nature. The word nerd only serves to be a positive descriptor, and thus Mortragians are proud to wear the title, and do their bests, naturally, to be as nerdy as possible.

Also, take note of the fact that Mortragians do not take themselves that seriously.  The word nerd is used positively, of course, but with humor; they are not ignorant to the way that the majority of English speakers in the world would interpret the word.
