Winter is always beautiful in Sunnydale, especially this year, 1996. The second half of the school year is all ready underway, with rumors of a new girl set to show up in the near future. With a town this size, having a new student is always big news at Sunnydale High. Add that news to the arrival of the new librarian and a new computer science teacher, and the school is practically buzzing with excitement. Campaigning for title of May Queen has all ready begun at a low level, and cheerleader tryouts are not that far out. The sports teams are doing well this year, much to the enjoyment of the school and the townsfolk who watch the games.
The darker sectors of the town are barely aware of the activity, though, for they are caught up in more sinister dealings. The time for the Harvest is drawing near, and to prepare for these events, the Master has called forth all of his childer, including the Order of Aurelius. Nearly all of the childer answer the call, including the Master's favorite, Darla, as well as her 'family', Drusilla and Spike. Their arrival in town heightens the danger for the blissfully ignorant residents.
Still, The Powers that Be have set certain plans into motion that will help protect the town, and prevent the Apocalypse from happening. Forces of good are gathering, and now all that remains is for the hero to arrive, and the battle plans to be drawn.
This is Mortal Dreams, a role playing game based loosely off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as created by Joss Whedon and Mutant Enemy Productions.
