| This VK 770 charger is a 265 BW auto, It was a "temparary car" as my magna was writen off at the time and i could not wait for insurance, Paid $1500 out of the trading post, gave it a tune and oil change and it lasted 3 years without a cent on it. |
Again another special / limited run car that i have owned. It is basically the fastest factory muscle car i have owned 1973 E55 340 charger I bought this car in 1981 while working at a chrysler dealership, at that time these cars were unwanted and worth nothing, while i was technically the 3rd owner the first owner was a chrysler engineer who had bought the car new, he traded the charger in on the friday for a sigma, i saw it at the dealership on the saturday and bought the car and drove home on the monday, also the same day a 20k mileage immaculate sportsman had been traded in, as no one else in my family could drive a 4speed, i stuck with the 340, the sales rep laughed as i had bought the rough one of the 2 charges traded in - both were traded for the same price $1,200 While the car was relatively new - 6 years old, i had plenty opf problems, rear tyres lasted 2 weeks if driven hard, diff replaced in first week under warrenty, needed ball jints front end work for next rego, kept blowing alternators and regulators when raining heavy, replaced starter motor, replaced 727 with a 904 from a VE 318 ( $60 )as the rebuild price was more that the car, had trouble with kick down lever, could not get parts for the carter, placed a holley 650, then again had to make up brackets for the kick down leaver, trim was falling apart, brake rotors warped With all of those problem, its still my favourite car |
