SO HOW DO YOU REPLACE A NICE CAR LIKE A DRIFTER CHARGER ???

WITH ANOTHER CHARGER :)
Main Menu
So a during the car selling period i did not really want to sell my CL drifter charger, for one reason it was a very nice car, never tampered with all original panels etc and secndly you wont find anything newer - it was made on the last day of charger production. but with a wife who does not want to work and your credit card balance approaching maximum, what can you do.

June 2005 i sold the CL to a lovely lady who really likes the car., June 2005 i got withdrawal symptoms.

After almost 1.5 years i fonally found another charger, i have seen many cars for sale in trading post, ebay, carsales, mopar market, plus a few cars from word of  mouth, but some were not as nice as mine and people asking more $$$, plus some cars selling for 5k, that should really become salvage material rather than restore/rebuild.  but that is the price of a charger in 2006, i should buy a farm and collect the intact ones, actuallyi found a few under %1500 that were quite sound and plenum rust free, just d=needed a donr car for the odd guard bonnent, motor etc

So what can you replace a charger with - ??  yes another charger

Finally in QLD i found a VH charger semi restored and parts of a ongoing update, i dont have the full story or know what really happened but there is a ower up there who threw in the towel and is giving up on a car.

This is something i am familiar with, my sone in the last few years got attached to a HQ monaro 4door, with P plate laws looming at the time we decided to go with VIC recomendations and go for a P-plate legal small253 V8 ans base trimatic.  Well after throwing in good money after bad the car finally got together but went severly over budget no thanks to a crook LPG system , bodgy wiring and bodgey electric controll. After everything was replaced with new one by one did the car finally become drivable and reliable, i still have my fuel dockets, 6 tanks of LPG fill her up and 9 tow truck payments - as in Kramer and the nun i think the car had the 'kovorka' something abot the devil in it.

Wednesday 6th december 2006 browsing the internet during morning tea ( one of the few advantages of being desk bound in a office ) i came acros a ad on  a web page , contacted the seller Tye at Queensland Valiant Restoration and Repairs ( i hope i got that right ) the car was advertised and kye was good enough to list known history, good and bad points, a few phone calls and i offered to buy and sent a confirming fax - car sold over the phone, buyer and seller  a state away.

So what did i get a VH charger code VH3d29 - which decodes as a factory 245 manuall, i will have to wait for the date and compliance plate to see if 3 or 4speed, but that was 33 years ago, today it is a freshly rebuild 265 and 4speed, the car did have webbers, but they stayed with the owner, i got a typical carter 2bbl as per factory to get the car mobile.

Well here are 2 same photos, as of today 11-dec-2006 the car is paid for and has been picked up by a car carrier and is destined for sydney
