I am a 28 year old mom and college student. I have an A.S. degree in Human Services and am currently working on a Bachelors on Social Work. I plan to graduate in 2007 and then move on for my masters. I hope to work on a minor in art, so that I can use art therapy in my work.

My daughter is almost ten and is a spectacular young woman. She is amazing, brilliant and (if possible) even more stubborn than I am!! Ten going on 21, but despite all that she is still the best thing to ever happen to me. My little baby is not so much a baby anymore as she is a young woman, boy, does that hurt to say. You can see Sierra's pictures and stories here. She went to a few classes with me when she had days off from school and was so wonderful that my professors have invited her back as often as she'd like! She took notes in Biology on genetics and worked on the class assignment in Algebra II. Then she went to lab with me and had a wonderful time dissecting a frog - what a kid she is!! She is brilliant, I can't wait to see what she does with her life!

In 2004 Sierra and I spent much of the summer rallying with the pro-choice movement in the months prior to the election. We went to the March for Women's lives in Washington DC and the March Across the Brooklyn Bride in August. Pictures are now up from that trip.

I have been a praticing pagan for about seven years now. I am a member of Hudson Valley Pagan Network and am in my second term as the Events Officer, having already served as Child Advocate. I am also moderator of their online egroup. The picture to the left is from HVPN's Beltane celebration at Peebles Island in 2003, I was May Queen for 2002 and passed the torch on to the next one. Below are other pictures from family trips and other HVPN events.

I like tattoos, having had one for about 6 years that had not come out nicely, I finally had a tiny rose turned into a beautiful work of art. The same terrific artist put a small ankh on my other ankle. I recently had wings placed around the ankh and will be having them colored in as soon as I decide on the colors! Thanks to Rick at Painted Monkey Tattoo!!!

I literally love all music: country, rock, hip-hop and oldies- Frank Sinatra, Linkin Park, Muse, Pat Benetar, Dashboard Confessional, Shakira, John Mayer, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Sarah MacLachlan, Eminem, Ray Charles, Matchbox 20, Norah Jones, and Keith Urban. But my absolute must have is Godsmack - their last album "The Other Side" was great and I am completely psyched about their upcoming fourth album, the first single of which, "Speak", kicks ass!!!
Of course, anything that I can play very loud and lose myself in is a plus.

I also have an absolute addiction to ridiculous television shows - I could quote you nearly every episode of Friends. My current illness is boxed sets, since I don't pay for cable! Collections of Alias, Charmed, Nip/Tuck and Gilmore Girls provide a getaway from the drab offerings of "reality" television.

I enjoy reading, but haven't had much time with assignments getting in the way. My reading material for the trip to the Netherlands was Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, which was fabulous! I recently finished The DaVinci Code by Dan Browne and Wicked by Gregory Maguire. Upnext is the sequel to Wicked - Son of the Witch. Sierra and I are half-way through Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix together. It is wonderful reading together and we have several more series lined up and waiting.

I don't have all too many hobbies lately, but when I do have time, I enjoy art. Whether it is painting a new box to give as a gift or making up a wall mural - I love to create. I recently finished my Intermediate sculpture class, where we had to create something big. You can view my pictures here. Now I mostly take pictures - all the photos of my daughter are my own, few professional, just me! I used to write poetry, which if you must you can read here, but now I don't have as much rage...lol, so my muses have all but left. I have been writing more journal type essays about myself and my daughter. I enjoy the moments of quiet reflection they award me.

And that is just about me in a nutshell, anything more you are unfortunate enough to find out when you meet me - you poor bastard!

Thanks for killing some time here - now go get a life!
