For our first assignment, to get us used to the sculpture studio environment, we had to had to take something large and make it small or take something small and make it big. I chose to take a desk and, with cardboard for filler and glued wood I varnished on top, I created a nice desk. All the desk trapping are handmade. I used the internet and some hot-glue ingenuity to make them pop. Don't mind the chair, it came out horribly, it was a mistake with some celluclay and brown paint that I will not repeat!!

For the rest of the semester, we worked mainly independantly. I was not sure where to head, but after the first section of class passed and I have created a wooden pallet (only made now out of foamcore board) I thought about how cool it would be to make a complete sculpture that is ABSOLUTELY useless. The cinderblocks and bricks are made out of a core of styrofoam and a layer of celluclay smoothed over the top. The effect is pleasingly realistic. I also created trowells out of foam and hotglue...I was very proud of my "A".
