I have a theory which I call my "Sinkhole of Evil" theory. I came up with this theory after learning about such infamous dual killers as Leopold and Loeb and Perry Smith and Dick Hickock. Both of these pairs were fairly tame individuals on their own but, when they teamed up, they became merciless killers. Imagine you have two individuals who are evil, for sake of argument we'll call them Bender and Don Juan. Each of these fellows is evil in their own minds, but do not practice their evil fantasies because they fear the law, they are not sure how to commit their crimes properly, etc. However, when these two join up, a Sinkhole of Evil is created. Basically, their combined evil creates a strong gravitational field of evil power, which radiates out from them. Anyone who is around this pair is ultimately infected. I've noticed that evil seems a lot more contagious than good. When someone behaves in an evil manner, people can't help but imitate them. Maybe it's the glory evil people recieve. Example: think of how many books have been written about Jack the Ripper compared to Mother Teresa. Maybe it is because evil seems so much more fun. Average people are seduced by the idea that psychotic killers are wild, free-spirited rebels or creepy, shadow-lurking villains as portrayed in so many films. In truth, truly evil people are perfectly normal on the surface, they simply have black souls bubbling beneath their skin. Still, I think my Sinkhole of Evil theory only works to a certain degree. Using my influence, I can cause normal people to become morbidly fascinated by my wicked fantasies. However, I doubt I could use it to convince anyone to start raping children. It is only truly powerful when combined with others. |
