What a fabulous week in New York City! I lucked out with fantastic spring weather.  Contrary to popular belief, New Yorkers are friendly and helpful folks - busy on their way out and about the town.  True to form however, the cab drivers did not disappoint and weren't afraid to ask for a tip!

The week flew by and I got to do so many wonderful things.  Man did I do alot of walking!  I wandered
Grand Central station in the midst of an Earth Day celebration, caught Russell Simmon's Def Poetry on Broadway, shopped Soho and Tribeca, was entertained by ball players talking trash at the infamous 4th street courts, saw the majestic Statue of Liberty, walked the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge, caught the Matisse/Picasso exhibit at MoMA, and even spotted celebrities - Ed Burns in the Village and then Alan Cummings after an MTV Times Square gig!  To top it off, Leslie, my hostess with the mostess, scored an invite for me after the opera, La Boheme, to this trendy Manhattan loft party thrown by an art critique.

To balance things out, the Roys showed me "the other" New York out in the suburbs of Congers - a rock's throw from the dignified military campus of
West Point, which we got to tour thanks to Tito David's credentials - Go Army, Beat Navy!  I got a chance to see Ms. Ramona in action, who helped her team win the Sat. softball game and to see Papa carry out his duties as a minister for the local church.  They also treated me to a spanish dinner at Sevilla, a long-standing favorite in the heart of Greenwich Village.
