Why should you watch this? Well Neon Genesis Evangelion is considered to be one of the greatsest anime shows of al time, and with good reason. It has a cast of excellent characters and a plot which, at times is confusing, but still gripping. |
|
|
|
The series has 26 episodes and 2 movies (Death and Rebirth & The End of Evangelion) to its name. It's very unlikely that there will be any more to be made (the name of the second film says it all) but despite what some might say is a a short series (DBZ seems to have no end. Maybe a good question for Egg, the DBZ master of this site!!!) it's got a little bit of eveything for all anime fans. It's even worth a look if you haven't really seen many anime shows before (this was anime series I truely watched, and it had me hooked).
All the episodes and movies should available on VHS and DVD and can be found in most good video/DVD retailers. Also E-bay is a good place to find them, especially if you find a good deal. |

THE STORY |

|
|
It's the year 2015, and over half the world's population has perished due to the attacks of huge entities called 'Angels'. To combat Angels, NERV, a top secret organisation reporting directly to the UN, has created mankind's ultimate fighting machines, synthetic life forms known as Evangelions. Only a few teenagers are capable of piloting an Evangelion, for a start they have to be born exactly nine months after the Angels' first attack. It's a dangerous job, and Rei Ayanami, the pilot of the first Evangelion -Unit 00 - is living proof! Commander of NERV, the mysterious and ruthless Gendo Ikari, requests his son, Shinji Ikari pilot Evangelion - Unit One. Misato Katsuragi, the attractive Operations Manager of NERV (also responsible for NERV's battle operations) is ordered to bring Shinji to Tokyo-3. After much hesitation, Shinji eventually agrees to pilot Evangelion Unit One. He forms a cerebral-link with Evangelion and the giant robot, with Shinji inside, is launched. With desperate urgency, Shinji trys to control the EVA in its battle against an attacking Angel. All the time, Misato is developing a growing fondness for Shinji. From there the story continues, and becomes more complex. We find the introduction of new characters. |

KAJI: THE COOL GUY, WORKS IN NERV AND AS A SPY FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO KEEP NERV IN CHECK. HE'S ALSO MISATO'S EX FROM THEIR COLLEGE DAYS!!! CUE THE TYPICAL JAPANESE SEXUAL INUENDO!!!
